Meet the Trainers!
Founder & Lead Trainer
Brooke grew up on a cattle farm in Mississippi and has always had a deep love for animals. Watching the cattle dog work and laying in the yard with the labradors is where it all began. During her time in college getting an education degree, she got her first pet dog, Luke. Luke had Canine Mega-Esophagus, so life with this new puppy was hard enough but was even more difficult with him being untrained. He couldn't have food rewards due to his condition, so as a 20 year old college student, she dove into studying dog training and behavior. Soon after adopting this dog, she became the owner of an aggressive Australian Cattle Dog.his was something she knew she needed additional help on. She then started taking classes with a local trainer that ended up becoming her first mentor! This is when she got her first experience doing behavior modification and management.
Once she felt confident in training and rehabilitating dogs, she began fostering for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society. Training and socializing these dogs was what she looked forward to every day.
After graduating with a degree in Music Education, she realized that teaching in a public school setting wasn’t her purpose. Brooke, Jake, and the dogs moved to the Nashville area to both pursue their new dreams. Brooke flew to California to learn from several dog trainers on what to do and more importantly, what NOT to do. Hands on experience and continued education are both far more important than the generic dog training certifications you can easily get online. She trained for free for several months to gain confidence and clientele in the area.
Her passion for dogs and educating owners truly shows in her work. Brooke continues to further her education by studying under and getting real dog training experience with the top dog trainers in the world. Her and her dog Logan have been through Therapy Dog courses, and therapy work is something she plans to pursue with him in the near future. She is also a member of the International Association of Pet Professionals and is very active in AKC sports with her tollers including AKC Obedience, Agility, Hunt Tests, Dock Diving, and more! In addition, her dogs have also been featured on several commercials and music videos in Nashville!
Sophia Kingsbury has accomplished much in her first years as a dog trainer. She is young and full of natural talent! She is very compassionate and creative when it comes to training. After working at a daycare and grooming salon, she knew she wanted a career in the dog world. She has had several mentor trainers and has worked at several different facilities in the Nashville area. She recognized early on that in order to work with dogs, you have to love what you’re doing. When she finally made her way to Adventure Canine, it could not have been a more perfect match!
Sophia competes with her border collie, Maisie, in several sports. They are actively pursuing agility titles and also working towards sheep herding trials. These two really have such a strong bond, and it’s enjoyable to watch them work! She is able to take her experience with that bond and apply it in her training of our clients' dogs. Sophia has also taught Maisie over 60 tricks while working on all of the AKC Trick titles. Maisie starred in a Harry and David commercial last year as well.
Cayla's dog training experience began with sending her personal dog, Jake the boxer, to Adventure Canine back in 2019. She was in college in MS at the time, but she still showed an extraordinary level of commitment and follow through with Jake's training. As she continued her education at college, her passion for training dogs continued to grow as she took a position teaching group classes at her local pet store. Brooke recognized her commitment to learning and becoming the best trainer for her dog and others, and invited her to come join the Adventure Canine team in 2022.
Cayla's love for dogs and training is only matched by her work ethic and ability to accomplish vital training and care tasks, no matter the circumstance. She has her bachelor's degree in Psychology and Entrepreneurship from Jacksonville State University.
Her absolute favorite thing to do outside of training dogs is hiking and adventuring with her two dogs, Jake and Rolex.
Trainer - Private Sessions/Group Classes
Andrue has trained dogs for 5 years teaching over 300 group classes. He started at a local canine boarding and training facility in Mount Juliet. He owned Andrue’s Dog Training for a year offering group and private sessions. After a year, he realized he was missing out on opportunities to learn amongst peers and decided to join a team of a dog training business in Nashville. He enjoyed it very much but wanted to expand his knowledge further. Having known Brooke for over 2 years he knew that he wanted to learn from her and her team and is now thrilled to be a part of the Adventure Canine team, and to bring his expertise to the table.
